Having spent most of my career as a public fire and life safety educator, I would be remiss if I didn't offer life safety information on this site.  It is great to enjoy the history and heritage of Portland Fire, but remember, Portland Fire has existed since 1853 for one, very simple reason - people are unsafe.  This point is proven most every time the bell rings in a fire station.  But most situations are preventable if people consider their personal safety.
